CCUSA earns VDH recognition in Operations, Performance for the 18th consecutive year
Campbell County Utilities and Service Authority (CCUSA) has earned the 2022 Virginia Optimization Program Gold Award for its high-quality drinking water treatment from the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) Office of Drinking Water, for operations and performance excellence for water utilities. CCUSA has received an award through this program each year since the program begin in 2005.
The Gold Award was presented to Michael Templeton, Chief Operator and Jeff Wells, Executive Director on May 6th by Dixon Tucker, P.E., VDH District Engineer of VDH’s Field Office in Virginia Beach and Lisa Crabtree, P.E., District Engineer in VDH’s Field Office in Abingdon. CCUSA received the award for the Otter River Drinking Water Plant following an analysis of 12-months of data by the VDH Office of Drinking Water.
Each year, through Virginia’s Optimization Program, the VDH recognizes drinking water plants that perform above and beyond minimum standards by optimizing and running their treatment process efficiently and effectively. The primary purpose of the program is to reduce risks to public health associated with drinking water.
